 SILVER HILL HOSPITAL
 “My sister’s condition prompted
me to want to do something,” he
says. “After meeting with Andrew Gerber (Silver Hill’s President and Medical Director) and seeing that Silver Hill is very well managed and going in the right direction in terms
of what they are trying to accomplish and how they are trying to accomplish it, I decided this would be a good place to start an endowment.”
Silver Hill Hospital typically grants over one million dollars a year in financial aid to patients with demonstrated need. The endowment from the Leavitts will provide additional resources for patient financial aid every year, in perpetuity. Silver Hill created its first patient financial aid endowment, the Meridyth L. Davis Endowment Fund, in 2021 and is actively seeking to grow endowed patient financial aid funds.
Creating or giving to an endowed fund designated for financial aid
offers a lifeline for patients who would otherwise not be able to afford
high quality mental health care. It creates a legacy of providing treatment
to deserving individuals, regardless of their ability to pay.
Endowed funds may be created with a commitment of $100,000 or more. The fund may be
named to honor or memorialize the donor or a loved one. It may be designated for patients living with a specific psychiatric or addiction disorder, or to be used for general patient financial assistance.
If you would like to learn more about opportunities to give to Silver Hill Hospital’s Patient Financial Aid Fund or about starting an endowed fund, please contact Senior Philanthropic Advisor & Director of Planned Giving Sarah Shevchik at sshevchik@silverhillhospital.org or 203-801-3129.

We thank the many donors who support our Patient Financial Aid Fund, which provides patients like Tom Maloney the opportunity to receive high-quality mental health care when they otherwise would not be able to afford it.
