Treatment Approach
Silver Hill gave me my start. It showed me that there was a way out that I thought was authentic. I was exposed to other people, other things and other concepts that made me believe there was a possible future for me.
- Susan B.
When your mental health is in crisis

Inpatient treatment is often an essential first step in the recovery from mental illness or addiction. It is the most intensive form of care, indicated for a phase of illness that requires a great deal of management. At Silver Hill, we pride ourselves on offering a high clinician-to-patient ratio so that each patient can receive the individualized attention he or she needs.

Inpatient care provides stabilization, symptom reduction, medication management and detoxification when indicated. It prepares patients for subsequent levels of care – and we begin planning for those as soon as a patient is admitted. For many patients, the next stage will be extended treatment in one of our residential transitional living programs where a patient continues treatment while living on-campus. Intensive outpatient programs are also available for patients who live at home and are able to come to Silver Hill several days a week for treatment. Other patients may be discharged directly to continued treatment by their referring clinician.
