Virtual Grand Rounds: Ketamine Treatment in Mental Health

The lecture will be an introduction to ketamine as a mental health treatment. We will cover history, pharmacology, clinical effectiveness, and the basic logistics of treatment. We will also discuss other aspects of treatment such as dosing, set and setting, psychotherapy, and treating conditions beyond depression.

As a result of participating in this activity, learners should be able to:

  1. Describe the historical background of ketamine
  2. Explain the basic neurochemical and subjective effects of ketamine
  3. Discuss the use of ketamine in mental health treatment
