Silver Hill adds to its addiction
treatment tool belt
SMART Recovery is seen as an alternative or complement to 12-Step programs
Many people long to spend quality, sober time with their families,
but the execrable and seemingly relentless grip of addiction prevents that from happening.
Silver Hill Hospital, a leader in treating addictive behaviors, now has several ways to help people
get there. We are constantly on the lookout for innovative and evidence-based programs to help the greatest number of people manage their addictions.
Based on patient feedback, we recently added SMART Recovery support group sessions to our
addiction recovery options. Self-Management and Recovery Training (SMART) is a four-point program whereby participants help each other resolve problems with addictions, such as to alcohol, drugs, gambling or over-eating.
SMART is an abstinence-oriented program that introduces skills
