Alexis Briggie, PhD
Dr. Alexis Briggie specializes in the delivery of evidence-based psychotherapy for patients with substance use disorders, trauma and comorbid conditions. She oversees psychological services across multiple clinical programs at Silver Hill, and is focused on expanding the hospital’s neuropsychological assessment capabilities and strengthening its psychology training program.
Before joining Silver Hill, Dr. Briggie served as Associate Training Director of Psychology and Supervising Psychologist at Mount Sinai Behavioral Health Center in New York. In this role, she provided direct clinical care while overseeing the education and supervision of psychology interns, externs, fellows, and psychiatry residents.
Dr. Briggie also served as an Attending Psychologist at Montefiore Medical Center’s Addiction Psychiatry Consult Service, where she worked with patients with substance use-related comorbidities. Earlier in her career, she was a Staff Psychologist at the Center for Motivation and Change in New York, where she guided patients seeking evidence-based treatment for substance abuse and trauma.
Dr. Briggie holds a master’s and a doctorate’s degree in clinical psychology from the Gordon F. Derner School of Psychology at Adelphi University and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Barnard College, Columbia University. She completed her pre-doctoral internship at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York and has research experience in anxiety, addiction psychiatry, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, and other areas.
