Silver Hill Hospital is thrilled to announce a $5.5 million gift, the largest contribution in our institution’s 94-year history.
This unprecedented gift marks a pivotal moment in our history, empowering our organization to increase access to our signature, individualized health care and ensure clinical excellence to advance our mission to reduce suffering from mental illness and addiction.
This generous gift will enable Silver Hill to advance key initiatives through focused investments in patients and staff, campus infrastructure enhancements, and community investments consistent with a recently adopted strategic plan to ensure accessible clinical excellence into the future.
In addition to outright support for patient financial aid, patient wellness facilities, and employee growth, the pledge supports Silver Hill’s long-term financial viability through our endowment.
This gift was made by a family of past and current volunteers of the hospital, who wish to remain anonymous as they continue their involvement.
“The donors believe deeply in the importance of high-quality mental health care and in Silver Hill’s ability to deliver it,” Andrew J. Gerber, MD, PhD, President and Medical Director, said. “We are extremely grateful for this generous leadership gift and hope it will inspire others and reset the culture of philanthropy to invest in our vision of a world free from stigma and isolation where psychiatric care is accessible to all.”
Silver Hill invites our supporters to join in celebrating this milestone gift and consider how they too can have an impact. For more information about supporting our mission, please visit our donation page, or contact the Advancement Department at 203.801.2396.
