Petra Pilgrim, MD
Dr. Petra Pilgrim is the Director of the Steward Program, exclusively for the treatment of executives and professionals. The Steward Program is comprised of Steward Residential and Steward Outpatient, two distinct programs serving patients requiring different levels of care.
Warm and direct, Dr. Pilgrim is a practicing psychiatrist who takes a hands-on approach to management. “My office is right here in Steward House alongside our residential patients and steps from our Steward Outpatient space,” she says. “I get to know each patient, and work with them individually to design their treatment program.”
Besides day-to-day medication management and directing programming, Dr. Pilgrim is also an individual and group therapist. “I can promise our patients that, if they are willing to receive and accept the therapy we provide, they will learn new ways of thinking as well as new ways of processing their life experiences.”
Dr. Pilgrim became Director of Steward House Residential in 2020. In this role, she defined and built the program, seeing firsthand the impact of her presence as an onsite psychiatrist and everyday part of the treatment team. This factor – in combination with the superior qualifications and dedication of her colleagues, the intensity of treatment in a short amount of time, and the high level of motivation among her patients – has made Steward Residential an unsurpassed leader in specialized mental health treatment and recovery.
In 2026, Dr. Pilgrim’s role expanded to include leadership of the newly launched Steward Outpatient program. A three-day per week program — also for executives, professionals, and like-minded peers whose high intensity lives and careers have impacted their mental health and balance — Steward Outpatient is a natural outgrowth of Steward Residential, extending the clinical model and excellence to expanded populations and patients. Dr. Pilgrim applauds the Silver Hill model and unsurpassed treatment continuum, “I think it’s wonderful,” she says. “It’s a very unique setup – having a mix of inpatient and then residential treatment and then outpatient treatment – it’s an amazing continuum of care. You can’t find Silver Hill anywhere else in the country.”
