Yvonne Upshall
Yvonne Upshall is the Senior Professional Counselor at The Steward House and River House. She also offers couples and family therapy at The Steward House.
As a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Yvonne brings clinical expertise and leadership experience to her role at Silver Hill. Her background and experience working with adolescents and adults in an intensive outpatient setting has allowed her to develop a strong foundation in navigating complex family dynamics, trauma-informed care, and crisis intervention.
Yvonne approaches therapy through a lens of dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), Attachment-Based Family Therapy (ABFT), Supportive Parenting For Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE), and Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR). She specializes in working with adolescents and adults experiencing depression, anxiety, and trauma.
Prior to joining Silver Hill, Yvonne was the Clinical Supervisor for intensive outpatient programming at Newport Healthcare in Stamford, Connecticut. She also provided school-based counseling and crisis intervention services through Kids in Crisis.
She earned her M.S. in Mental Health Counseling from the University at Albany and holds a B.A. in Psychology. She also studied abroad in Milan, Italy, and is licensed in both New York and Connecticut.
