Dr. Gerber addresses Silver Hill supporters at Sailfish Club of Florida

The Silver Hill Advancement Department recently organized a reception at the Sailfish Club of Florida in Palm Beach. Approximately 30 supporters attended and heard remarks from Silver Hill President and Medical Director Andrew J. Gerber, MD, PhD.
Dr. Gerber discussed how careful diagnostics in psychiatry require greater complexity than in general medicine. Fortunately, new advances in AI systems now enable us to compile vast amounts of data in ways that are clinically useful.
Dr. Gerber also compared treatment transitions at Silver Hill to passing a baton in an Olympic relay. The hospital’s unique continuum of care allows patients to move seamlessly from inpatient to residential to outpatient treatment. Clinicians meet regularly to discuss patients’ symptoms and recovery progress, ensuring that each team understands a patient’s needs before the transition to the next level of care. Silver Hill is unique in offering all three levels of care on a single campus.
Peter and Beverly Orthwein hosted the event. Mr. Orthwein serves as Chair Emeritus of the Silver Hill Board of Directors.
The Silver Hill Advancement Department holds events throughout the year to recognize and thank the hospital’s supporters.
