SHARE students also bring a wealth of knowledge and experience with them, offering fresh perspectives and energy to their year on campus.

Callie Jowers
1. What did you do prior to coming to Silver Hill Hospital to be a SHARE Learner?Ā
Iām a graduate from the Clinical Psychology PhD program at the University of Detroit Mercy in Detroit, Michigan. I spent the last year working as a Clinical Psychology Intern at the Institute of Living in Hartford, CT.
I was fortunate to work within multiple treatment settings, including the IOLās inpatient and intensive outpatient programs wherein I conducted psychological assessment and provided individual and group psychotherapy. Previous experiences also include working in a state psychiatric hospital, as well as in several outpatient clinics attached to academic institutions. I also worked as a private practice clinician in Michigan for three years.
2. What is your focus and anticipated activities for the next year? What are you hoping to learn and leave with?
At Silver Hill, I will be working in the Argent Program and River House. As someone with clinical and academic interests in personality and personality assessment, I am looking forward to receiving additional training in assessment and psychotherapy for patients across these two programs. I am also looking forward to building connections with colleagues here at Silver Hill!
3. Tell us a little bit about yourself.Ā
I am originally from Augusta, GA. I enjoy spending time with friends and colleagues, as well as spending time with my pets. I enjoy trying new restaurants and coffee shops, attending live music, and running!Ā

Anthony Boiardo
1. What did you do prior to coming to Silver Hill Hospital to be a SHARE Learner?
I completed my PhD in Clinical Psychology at the New School for Social Research and completed my psychology internship at Madison Park Psychological Services in New York City. At the New School, I piloted a research study on gay men and body image representation: to understand how early childhood relationships with caregivers impact how men think and feel about their bodies, which ultimately became a central focus of my dissertation.
My clinical training included rotations with diverse patient populations at The Safran Center, NYU World Trade Center where I focused on delivering trauma-informed interventions, Mount Sinai, Montefiore and the New School College Counseling Center.
2. What is your focus and anticipated activities for the next year? What are you hoping to learn and leave with?
Over the next year, I will be a Psychology Fellow at Barrett House. I hope to continue to deliver LBGTQ+ and trauma informed interventions there. I believe that therapy is a process of self-discovery, which aims to embrace each clientās uniqueness and their goals for treatment and I hope to further hone these skills while at Barrett House.
3. Tell us a little bit about yourself.Ā
I join Silver Hillās community from New York City, where I have lived for the last twelve years. I enjoy working out, spending time with friends, and traveling.

Brendan Krovatin
1. What did you do prior to coming to Silver Hill Hospital to be a SHARE Learner?Ā
I am completing my doctoral work at Adelphi University on Long Island. I came to Silver Hill to learn more about working with in a hospital setting.
Before coming to Silver Hill, Iāve worked in a variety of therapeutic settings, including a residental treatment facility for children, a private practice, and a college counseling center. A hospital setting felt like an important and logical next step.
2. What is your focus and anticipated activities for the next year? What are you hoping to learn and leave with?
Over this next year, I will be working in Michaelās House and Scavetta. My hope is to work with patients experiencing a variety of acute mental illnesses and to leave a lasting impact on their lives.
3. Tell us a little bit about yourself.Ā Ā
Iām a born and bred Jersey boy, and my interests include reading, writing, playing and listening to music, and spending time outdoors. As a psychologist, I am interested in exploring masculinity, running menās process groups, and working to help all patients find meaning and re-examine their relationships to their own stories.

Lawrence Peterson
1. What did you do prior to coming to Silver Hill Hospital to be a SHARE Learner?Ā
In August, I graduated with my PhD in Counseling Psychology from the University at Albany in Albany, NY. My internship was at the Brattleboro Retreat, a private not for profit psychiatric hospital founded in 1834.
While there, I worked with distressed professionals as well as general population patients. I have a longstanding interest in the needs of professionals who are exposed to stress and trauma in their careers, which led to my postdoc at SHH l. My primary work will be at the Steward House.
Before returning to graduate school for my PhD, I worked for 22 years as a public defender trial attorney. I enjoyed the sense of mission and the broad perspective that job demands. I had an aptitude for the psychological aspects of legal practice, which eventually led to a career change when my family moved to the East Coast.
2. What is your focus and anticipated activities for the next year? What are you hoping to learn and leave with?
I am looking forward to working with the unique patients and needs at Silver Hill and Steward House, as well as taking part in the very sophisticated psychological assessment that SHH is able to offer.
3. Tell us a little bit about yourself.Ā
I have 3 children, with the youngest having left for college just this year. My spouse of 33 years and I are looking forward to empty nester freedom!

I am a fifth year doctoral candidate at Adelphi University. My prior training includes placements at Columbia Medical Center, Mount Sinai Hospital, New York Psychoanalysis Society and Institute, and the NYU Postdoctoral Program in Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy.
2. What is your focus and anticipated activities for the next year? What are you hoping to learn and leave with?
I am hoping to expand my learning and clinical practice beyond psychodynamic psychotherapy and become more integrative in including principles from DBT, CPT, MBT, and other modalities practiced at Silver Hill. More generally, I am very interested in the occurrence of the poetic function in psychotherapy and look forward to discovering how elements of nonverbal communication arise with the patient populations I am seeing here. And lastly, I am committed to deconstructing ideas of mental experience as othering and hope to help destigmatize the field.
3. Tell us a little bit about yourself.Ā Ā
I was born and raised in New York City and, after living in a number of other cities internationally, decided to return to New York to complete my doctoral training. I am interested in the ways we use language, innovations in psychedelic medicine, and scientific research on consciousness. In the moments in between work projects, I love being on a sailboat on the water.
