It comes as no surprise that health and mental health professionals may experience significant conflicts when working with patients, family members, and professional colleagues. This presentation offers constructive strategies for managing various types of conflict that arise in everyday practice. A role play of these strategies in action is also featured.

As a result of viewing this presentation, learners should be able to:
- Analyze conflict styles used by patients, family members, co-professionals, and themselves
- Facilitate mutual empathy among patients, family members, and co-professionals
- Manage conflicts using strategies such as moving from positions to interests, generating options for mutual gain, and using objective criteria to select appropriate courses of treatment and care
