About DBT-S

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) for Substance Use (DBT-S) is an extension of DBT that utilizes the same concepts with a focus on substance use disorders. DBT-S concentrates on emotion regulation, healthy coping skills, relapse prevention, and managing intense cravings and urges.

DBT is an evidence-based psychotherapy with an educational component employed across several programs at Silver Hill. DBT is designed to teach and build skills for managing strong emotions, navigating social relationships, and making positive behavioral changes.
