Virtual Grand Rounds: Management of Aggression and Application in Substance Use and Detoxification Cases

This session will illustrate the different scenarios in which we see aggression in psychiatric settings and provide recommendations for matching therapeutic responses to the contributing factors. There will be a special focus on the management of aggression in substance use, detoxification, and early abstinence settings.

As a result of participating in this activity, you should be able to:

  1. Identify predictors of aggression
  2. Illustrate how to match a treatment algorithm to contributing factors
  3. Describe the impact substance use and detoxification can have on aggression
