Addiction to video games, cybersex, internet gambling, texting and emailing, e-baying and online auctions, and other technologies can be every bit as addictive as substances leading to the loss of jobs, loved ones, and happiness. This session will focus on the addictive potential of technology and its relation to mental health. 

Educational Objectives   

As a result of participating in this activity, learners should be able to:

  1. List five forms of Technological Addictions as they appear in the scientific literature of 2021
  2. Describe the psychology and culture surrounding Internet Gaming addiction
  3. Distinguish between normal use and addiction
