Loneliness and Belonging
In parallel with global recognition of Loneliness as an epidemic and issue of widespread concern, SHARE has named Loneliness and Connection as a theme for exploration in 2024-2025.
We’ve started strong with a seat on the Steering Committee of the Connecticut Collaborative to End Loneliness, and have participated in a range of events, presentations, and conversations to bring awareness and data to our communities and to encourage collaboration to address the problem.
Recent SHARE activities include:
- Loneliness and Connection Grand Rounds presentation
- Events and Conversations at Local Public Libraries, including From Loneliness to Connection: Learning & Healing with Experts from Silver Hill at the New Canaan Library
- Collaborations with active organizations in Connecticut, including the Connecticut Collaborative to End Loneliness, SOAR, and a NYC-based film festival
- The Loneliness Cure, Talkback Moderation at Fairfield University’s Quick Center for the Arts
- Summer of SHARE — a series of activities for Silver Hill Hospital team members encouraging collegiality, connection, and fun
- 2025 Loneliness Conference centered on the theme of loneliness and belonging
