SHARE Learners

Silver Hill Hospital, through SHARE, is an academy of learning, offering Clinical Rotations, Fellowships, Training, Internships, and a Clinical Scholars program to dozens of students each year studying psychiatry, psychology, nursing, and social work.

Together, this group forms a community of learners sharing didactic and community-building experiences and enjoying multiple opportunities to connect, grow, and collaborate.

SHARE’s key learning programs include:

Psychology Interns

Two individuals work with us and the William Alanson White Institute for their final clinical year before receiving their PhD.

Psychology Externs

Join the cohort of doctoral level trainees for the year.

Post-Doctoral Fellows

Post-Doctoral Fellows come to the program after completing their pre-doctoral internship or psychiatry residency and work at Silver Hill full-time immersed in various clinical and educational activities. *

Psychiatry Residents

Each year, a senior Psychiatry resident who has completed medical school and three years of a four-year psychiatry residency at Yale joins us for the year, offering an extensive opportunity for learning and augmenting Silver Hill’s relationship with the Yale Department of Psychiatry. Visiting residents from other programs are also welcome through the establishment of related affiliation agreements.  The 2024 visiting resident is coming to Silver Hill from the University of New Mexico.

Medical Students

SHARE and the CUNY School of Medicine have developed a rotation program for fourth-year medical students planning to become psychiatrists. The program was founded in 2023 and has expanded in 2024 to welcome a SUNY Downstate student as well.

Social Work Interns

We are excited to welcome seven interns in 2024-25, these graduate students came to Silver Hill and work ~20 hours per week toward their Master’s in Social Work (MSW) degrees and Master’s in Health Counseling (MHC) licenses.
