Amy Swift, MD

Deputy Chief Medical Officer

As Deputy Chief Medical Officer, Amy Swift, MD, oversees inpatient services at Silver Hill Hospital, working closely with nursing, social work, psychology, and other disciplines to establish the highest level of care for patients and their families.

A specialist in addiction psychiatry with nearly two decades of research and clinical experience, Dr. Swift is deeply devoted to understanding and treating the most complex use disorder cases. At Silver Hill, she will provide clinical care to a caseload of patients, developing individualized care plans that utilize a variety of therapy methods, including motivational interviewing, medication-assisted therapy, and psychoeducation.

Dr. Swift’s mission is to treat anyone who needs it – regardless of complexity – and she focuses on training and developing her team on various modalities to meet patient needs. She empowers team members to become confident and adept in working with patients with diverse backgrounds and complex disorders, and in managing any situation.

Previously, Dr. Swift was the Medical Director of Addiction Services at Mount Sinai Beth Israel Hospital in Manhattan, where she oversaw the daily operations and performance of the clinical staff as well as the development and quality assurance of the Hospital’s programming. Prior to becoming Medical Director, Dr. Swift served as Unit Chief of the Dual Diagnosis Inpatient Psychiatry Unit, Program Director of the Addiction Psychiatry Fellowship, and Physician in Charge of the Addiction Outpatient Clinic.

Dr. Swift was a Principal Investigator of a SAMSHA grant that developed an integrated training program to provide medical students at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai foundational training in Medication-Assisted Treatment of Opioid Addiction. In 2019, she received the Cynthia Zirinsky Research Mentorship Award, honoring her accomplishments as an esteemed educator. Dr. Swift has published and presented extensively in Addiction Psychiatry and related fields.

Dr. Swift currently resides in Rye Brook, New York.
