New research from Texas A&M University suggests that alcohol may affect the Alzheimer’s brain differently depending on the type of underlying disease pathology.   

The study featured commentary from Amy Swift, MD, Deputy Chief Medical Officer at Silver Hill, who emphasized the importance of applying these emerging findings to clinical care. 

“Integrating these nuanced insights into clinical decision-making may be particularly valuable for patients who continue to struggle with alcohol use after receiving a diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease and related dementia.”
